The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a notification inviting proposals from eligible medical colleges and institutes to add new medical qualifications. The NMC has outlined a clear process for submitting applications for the inclusion of new qualifications that are not listed in the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations-2023.

The official notification emphasizes that no medical college or institute should offer any new postgraduate qualification, including PDCC or PDF, without prior approval from the NMC. Institutions are instructed to submit their proposals through both email and postal services to ensure compliance. The NMC has warned that failure to comply with these regulations could lead to action as per Section 9.1 and 9.2 of the Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations-2023.

The NMC's regulations specify that institutions wishing to offer new qualifications must provide relevant documentation, including a Standard Assessment Form Part-A (Institutional Information) and Standard Assessment Form Part-B (Parent Specialty), along with the requisite application fee of Rs 2,50,000 plus GST at 18% per qualification. All applications should be addressed to the Post Graduate Medical Education Board for review.

Institutions can find more detailed instructions and access the necessary application forms on the NMC's official website.
