Madhya Pradesh is currently dealing with a series of distressing jackal attacks, particularly in Sehore district. On Monday evening, two men were attacked by a jackal in the Sagonia Panchayat of Rehti tehsil. The horrifying event was captured on CCTV, showing the jackal aggressively lunging at the men as they sat by the roadside. Despite their efforts to fend off the animal by throwing stones, the jackal persisted until one of the men managed to grab and throw it approximately 15 feet away.

The injured individuals, Shyam Yadav and Narmada Prasad, are now receiving medical treatment at the Narmadapuram District Hospital. The rise in jackal attacks has left local residents on high alert. Authorities have advised villagers to remain cautious, travel in groups, and avoid going out alone to reduce the risk of further incidents. The village panchayat has also emphasized the importance of staying away from jackals.

The forest department has been notified, and Ranger Harish Maheshwari has visited the injured men and ensured that compensation is provided. The dense forest surrounding the village is believed to be a potential hiding spot for the aggressive jackal, which remains at large. Authorities have warned that the jackal may return, heightening the need for vigilance among residents.

In a related incident on the same day, a jackal attacked five people in Salkanpur, causing serious injuries to two individuals. The recent surge in jackal attacks underscores the urgency of addressing the wildlife threat and ensuring the safety of local communities.
