Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the sand procurement process with the introduction of a new sand policy in Andhra Pradesh. The key modification permits the use of tractors and bullock carts for transporting sand, aiming to simplify access for the public.

Under this new policy, individuals can transport sand using their own tractors and carts at no additional cost, apart from a nominal application fee. This change allows residents to collect sand free of customary transportation fees, greatly benefiting the community.

As a result, Andhra Pradesh is witnessing what many are calling a “Sand Jaathara,” with images surfacing online that show dozens, if not hundreds, of tractors lined up at various sand reaches across the state. These photos highlight the enthusiasm of the public in taking advantage of the new sand procurement process.

This outreach initiative distinguishes CM Naidu as a statesman who listens to the needs of his constituents. Following previous struggles for sand during the YCP tenure, the citizens of AP appear to be embracing the new policy under Naidu’s leadership, as these viral images suggest a positive shift in public sentiment.
