- Jasprit Bumrah, ICC Test Rankings, Test cricket, India vs Australia
India's fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Test bowling rankings, overtaking South Africa's Kagiso Rabada and Australia's Josh Hazlewood. Bumrah's match-winning performance in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Perth, where he took 8 wickets for 72 runs, played a crucial role in India's 295-run victory over Australia. With this performance, Bumrah's ranking points surged to a career-high of 883, putting him back at No. 1.
Bumrah's teammate, Mohammed Siraj, also made a notable rise, climbing to 25th place after picking up 5 wickets in the match. In the ICC Test batting rankings, Yashasvi Jaiswal's brilliant 161 saw him move up to second place, behind only England's Joe Root. Virat Kohli, following his 30th Test century, climbed nine spots to 13th. Rishabh Pant retained his sixth position in the rankings for batters.
In the all-rounder rankings, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin continued to hold their positions at the top, even though they did not feature in the Perth Test.
