Traffic in parts of Delhi and Noida has been significantly affected as farmers march toward the Parliament complex on Monday to demand key changes in land acquisition policies. The farmers, representing at least 20 districts, will be gathering at 12 pm to press for five major demands related to land compensation, employment for landless farmers, and proper settlement of acquired areas.

Reports show long traffic queues at the Chilla border and Delhi-Noida direct flyover, with heavy security deployment and police barricades in place. To manage the traffic congestion, the Noida Police have issued a detailed traffic advisory, listing alternative routes to avoid major bottlenecks.

Alternate Routes for Vehicles:

  • Chilla Border to Greater Noida: Sector 14-A flyover, Golchakkar Chowk, Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk, Jhunjhupura Chowk
  • DND Border to Delhi: Film City flyover, Sector-18, Elevated Road
  • Kalindi Border to Delhi: Mahamaya flyover, Sector-37
  • Greater Noida to Delhi: Charkha roundabout, Kalindi Kunj or Hajipur underpass via Sector-51 and Model Town
  • Yamuna Expressway Traffic: Exit at Jewar toll, proceed via Khurja and Jahangirpur
  • Peripheral Expressway Traffic: Use Dadri or Dasna exits instead of Sirsa

Farmers' Demands:

The farmers are pushing for:

  1. Allocation of 10% plots and 64.7% increased compensation under the old land acquisition law.
  2. Four times the market rate compensation for land acquired after January 1, 2014.
  3. Allocation of 20% of plots on land acquired after January 1, 2014.
  4. Employment and rehabilitation benefits for the children of landless farmers.
  5. Government orders on issues discussed by the High Power Committee, along with proper settlement of populated areas.

These demands are aimed at ensuring better compensation and rehabilitation for farmers impacted by land acquisition policies.
