US President-elect Donald Trump has selected Kimberly Guilfoyle, a former Fox News host and political fundraiser, as the next ambassador to Greece. Guilfoyle, who has been engaged to Donald Trump Jr. since December 2020, has been described as a "close friend and ally" of Trump but her relationship with his son was not mentioned in the official announcement. Trump praised her for her leadership and experience in law, media, and politics, stating she was well-suited to strengthen relations between the US and Greece.

Before the announcement, rumors about Donald Trump Jr.'s personal life emerged, with reports linking him to socialite Bettina Anderson. The Daily Mail published photos of Trump Jr. with Anderson, fueling speculation that his engagement to Guilfoyle may have ended, though no official confirmation has been made. Reports about their rumored split gained traction after the pair was seen kissing in September.

Kimberly Guilfoyle is not the first appointee with family ties. Donald Trump has previously nominated Charles Kushner, father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, as ambassador to France, and appointed Massad Boulos, the father-in-law of his daughter Tiffany Trump, as a senior adviser. Trump's selection of personal and family connections for key roles continues to make headlines.
