- PV Sindhu wedding, Venkata Datta Sai marriage, PV Sindhu Udaipur, Hyderabad reception
On Sunday, ace Indian badminton player PV Sindhu married her fiancé, Venkata Datta Sai, in a beautiful traditional ceremony in Udaipur. The couple exchanged vows in the presence of their families and close friends. Sindhu looked stunning in a traditional wedding attire, while the event was also attended by Jodhpur's Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, who shared the first wedding picture on social media.
Sindhu, who had been engaged to Venkata Datta Sai, an executive director at Posidex Technologies, just the day before the wedding, celebrated their union with a joyful ceremony. Sindhu's father mentioned that both families had known each other for a while, and the wedding plans came together quickly within a month, with the date chosen to accommodate Sindhu's busy schedule due to her training and competitions in the upcoming year.
Prior to the wedding, the couple hosted various pre-wedding ceremonies. A Sangeet took place on December 20, followed by Haldi, Pellikuthuru, and Mehendi ceremonies the next day. The couple will continue their celebrations with a reception in Sindhu’s hometown, Hyderabad, on December 24.
Sindhu recently made headlines by ending her two-year title drought at the BWF World Tour by winning the Syed Modi India International badminton tournament in Lucknow. She defeated China's Wu Luo Yu in the finals with a 21-14, 21-16 victory. This win marked Sindhu's first BWF World Tour title since 2022 when she triumphed at the Singapore Open.
