This morning, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy hurriedly traveled to New Delhi following a summons from the Congress high command. While it was initially speculated that their visit might involve discussions about ministerial portfolios or the appointment of the PCC chief, it has emerged that the real issue at hand is quite different.

The immediate cause for their summons appears to be recent demolitions carried out under the aegis of the newly formed HYDRA, an agency set up by Revanth Reddy to address encroachments on lake lands. Notably, N-Convention, owned by actor Nagarjuna, was demolished for alleged encroachment issues. More controversially, a Sports Village, valued at Rs 40 crore and belonging to the brother of former Union Minister Pallam Raju, was razed without prior notice. Pallam Raju, a loyalist of the Gandhi family, had lodged a complaint with Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi regarding the demolition.

Sources suggest that Sonia Gandhi questioned Revanth Reddy about the legality and rationale behind the demolition of a structure that was constructed 15 years ago, without any prior notice. The Congress high command seems to be probing the motives behind the formation of HYDRA and the recent demolitions. The outcome of these high-level discussions remains to be seen, as political tensions mount and the situation unfolds.
