Hyderabad Sets Sights on Hosting 2036 Olympics: CM Revanth Reddy's Vision Unveiled

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has unveiled an ambitious plan for Hyderabad to host the 2036 Olympic Games. Announced during the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon prize distribution ceremony at Gachibowli Stadium, Reddy expressed his vision for the city to become a premier global sports destination. He has already approached Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting consideration of Hyderabad as the venue for the prestigious event.

To support this vision, Reddy has outlined significant infrastructure developments, including the construction of world-class stadiums and amenities. A major component of the plan is the transformation of Gachibowli into a comprehensive sports village, which will house various facilities for athletes and spectators. Additionally, Reddy has announced the establishment of the Young India Sports University in the upcoming academic year, aimed at fostering young sports talent and providing top-tier sports education.

In a bid to secure further support, Reddy has met with Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Mansukh L. Mandaviya, to discuss funding for the sports university and opportunities for hosting major sports events. The Chief Minister’s strategic plan emphasizes a commitment to making Hyderabad a strong contender for the 2036 Olympics, reflecting Telangana's dedication to elevating its sports infrastructure and capabilities on the global stage.
