In a significant development in Andhra Pradesh politics, Chandra Babu Naidu has outlined new conditions for YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders who are considering joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). With YSRCP's influence dwindling, now limited to only 11 seats and having lost its opposition status, there is increasing speculation that several of its key leaders might defect to TDP. Naidu has made it clear that any such defections will come with a prerequisite: interested leaders must first resign from their current positions before they can be considered for TDP membership.

Naidu emphasized that this requirement is part of TDP’s commitment to maintaining high standards and values within the party. He stated that prospective members must demonstrate their commitment by resigning from their existing roles, allowing TDP to assess their character and suitability before granting membership. This approach reflects Naidu's strategy to ensure that new entrants align with the party's principles and contribute positively to its growth.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister also acknowledged potential objections from within the party regarding new admissions. However, he assured that each case would be evaluated on its merits to strengthen TDP’s position. Naidu's stance signals a strategic move to solidify TDP's leadership and influence in the state, as he navigates the shifting political landscape following YSRCP’s recent setbacks.
