IT Minister Nara Lokesh is increasingly influential in Andhra Pradesh's NDA government, actively managing significant back-end operations. Recently, Lokesh has executed a strategic counter to Former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s earlier maneuvers in Eluru, delivering a notable political setback to Reddy. During Jagan's tenure, efforts were made to diminish the TDP's presence in Eluru, involving the then-deputy CM Alla Nani, who successfully lured Eluru Corporation Mayor Noorjahan from TDP to YSR Congress. This move aimed to undermine TDP's foundation in the region.

However, political fortunes have shifted dramatically. Despite Jagan's strategy, TDP made a robust comeback, culminating in the electoral defeat of Alla Nani, who subsequently exited YSR Congress and retreated from active politics. Adding to YSR Congress’s woes, Mayor Noorjahan has reversed her earlier decision and returned to TDP. Her formal rejoining was marked by a meeting with Nara Lokesh, further intensifying the political turbulence for YSR Congress.

The reversal has significantly impacted the Eluru political landscape, effectively backfiring Jagan's initial plan to dismantle TDP's base in the region. With the loss of Alla Nani and the return of Noorjahan to TDP, the YSR Congress’s efforts to consolidate power in Eluru have been severely undermined, illustrating a dramatic shift in local political dynamics.
