The government of Andhra Pradesh has initiated a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to address the pressing issue of laddu adulteration at Tirumala. This decision comes in response to rising concerns about the integrity of one of the region's most beloved offerings. The SIT is led by Guntur range Inspector General Sarvasreshta Tripathi, who is widely respected for his earnestness and commitment to justice.
Tripathi, a 2006 batch IPS officer, has a track record of fairness and integrity, making him a fitting choice for this sensitive investigation. Having previously served in Uttar Pradesh, he has returned to Andhra Pradesh specifically to oversee this probe as the state prepares for the upcoming 2024 elections.
The SIT will comprise several key figures, including DIG Jetty Gopinath and Kadapa SP Harshavardhan Raju, along with a team of DSPs, CIs, and SIs. Together, they will delve into every aspect of the laddu preparation process, scrutinizing everything from ghee procurement to the supply chain that delivers these sacred sweets to Tirumala.
As the SIT gears up for on-ground investigations, there is a palpable sense of anticipation surrounding the potential outcomes. The team's commitment to impartiality and thoroughness aims to restore trust in the Tirumala laddu, ensuring that this cherished tradition remains untainted.
