The Andhra Pradesh government is set to harness the potential of drone technology, recognizing its ability to empower various sectors, including surveillance, agriculture, photography, and logistics. In a bid to fulfill pre-poll promises, the TDP coalition government is focusing on job creation and economic upliftment for the youth.

With a target investment of ₹2,000 crore in the drone sector, the state aims to generate approximately 30,000 jobs. To kickstart this initiative, the government plans to unveil a comprehensive Drone Policy during the upcoming Drone Summit, scheduled for October 22-23 in Amaravati.

Amaravati, designated as the sole capital of Andhra Pradesh, will be transformed into an International Drone City, featuring dedicated zones for knowledge, technology, sports, and other innovative fields. The Drone City is envisioned to include integrated training facilities, centers of excellence, incubation centers, and research and development labs, all aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development within the drone industry.

These initiatives highlight the TDP government's commitment to positioning Andhra Pradesh as a leader in the burgeoning drone sector while creating substantial employment opportunities for the youth. Such efforts are commendable as the state moves towards a growth-centric approach, leveraging technology for economic advancement.
