- Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, YCP
In a recent political development in Andhra Pradesh, YCP senior leader and former TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has come forward to defend Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy against accusations made by his sister, Y.S. Sharmila. Bhumana asserted that Jagan has already allocated his rightful share of family assets to Sharmila and accused her of acting in a manner that supports TDP leader and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Bhumana's comments were a direct response to Sharmila’s claims that Jagan has been unjust to her and her children. Sharmila alleged that Jagan violated their late father, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy's, mandate for equitable distribution of family assets among the grandchildren.
According to Bhumana, Jagan promised to give 40% of the assets he earned and fulfilled that promise. He emphasized that the Jagathi Publications and its affiliates had been tied to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), underscoring the legal complexities surrounding their family assets.
Bhumana criticized Sharmila for her perceived alliance with Chandrababu Naidu, stating that her actions portray her as a "lone warrior" in both politics and her family. He expressed disappointment that Sharmila is acting as a puppet in Naidu’s schemes, which he believes are aimed at discrediting Jagan and the YSR legacy.
While Bhumana expressed his affection for Sharmila as YSR's daughter, he underscored that his loyalty lies with Jagan. He accused Sharmila of attempting to manipulate her mother, YS Vijayamma, regarding the distribution of Saraswati Power shares to further her agenda against Jagan.
Bhumana’s statements reflect a broader rift within the YSR family and the ongoing political tensions in Andhra Pradesh. He concluded by criticizing Naidu’s governance, accusing him of using diversion tactics to distract from his failures, while implying that Sharmila’s actions are part of a larger conspiracy against Jagan and the YCP.
