- Pawan Kalyan, Home Minister, Cabinet, Law and Order, Andhra Pradesh
Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan recently launched a scathing attack on his cabinet colleague, home minister Vangalapudi Anitha, over the functioning of the police department. This move has sparked debate among analysts, who believe that Kalyan may have overstepped his boundaries as an alliance partner. While Kalyan's concerns about the breakdown of law and order and atrocities against women are valid, some analysts argue that he should have exercised more restraint in expressing his views publicly.
Analysts point out that as a member of the Nara Chandrababu Naidu cabinet, Pawan Kalyan is bound by the principle of collective responsibility. Therefore, if Anitha has failed in her duties as a minister, Kalyan and other cabinet members share equal responsibility for the shortcomings. While it is important for Kalyan to address grievances within the cabinet, openly criticizing a fellow minister and issuing warnings in public may not be the most effective approach.
Instead of publicly reprimanding Anitha, analysts suggest that Kalyan could have raised his concerns during cabinet meetings or directly addressed the issue with the chief minister. By publicly hinting at the possibility of taking over the home portfolio, Kalyan may have inadvertently undermined the authority of Chief Minister Naidu and the coalition government. Some analysts attribute Kalyan's actions to his relative inexperience in administration and urge him to exercise more caution in his public statements.
