In a shocking environmental violation, a chemical tanker, believed to belong to Sreenivasa Labs, a pharmaceutical company, was caught dumping hazardous waste into the Musi River near Bapu Ghat in Langer Houz, Hyderabad. The tanker, clearly labeled "Hydrochloric Acid," was unloading chemical effluents through a specially designed pipeline directly into the river. The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday, and local residents quickly intervened by detaining the driver, Venkatesh, and the cleaner, Devdas, while contacting the police. Authorities seized the tanker, arrested the workers, and are investigating whether the company had any role in the illegal dumping.

Venkatesh had deviated from the tanker’s original route to Vikarabad and instead dumped the chemicals after setting up a pipeline on leased land. The Telangana Pollution Control Board has not responded to inquiries regarding the incident. The local police have also confiscated an earthmover used to clear the site. This incident highlights serious concerns about illegal waste disposal and environmental safety in the region.
