In a shift of political support, major US business leaders and companies are lining up to donate substantial sums to Donald Trump’s 2025 inaugural committee, following his landslide victory. Corporate America, which largely supported Kamala Harris and the Democratic agenda in the 2020 presidential race, is now keen to strengthen ties with the incoming Republican administration. With some of the largest donations coming from figures like Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, the inaugural fund could surpass the previous record of $107 million set during Trump’s first inauguration.

Major companies such as Uber, Toyota, Ford, General Motors, and hedge-fund manager Ken Griffin are also contributing $1 million each, some providing additional support in the form of vehicles, as Ford is doing. This overwhelming show of financial backing reflects Trump’s potential to reshape US economic policies in favor of certain industries, a move that many corporate leaders hope to benefit from.

The growing support from the corporate sector indicates a strategic effort by business leaders to gain favor and ensure access to the new administration. Many have traveled to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, where key figures like Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, Tim Cook, and Bezos have met with the President-elect. With a fundraising goal already surpassed, Trump's second inaugural committee is on track to set a new record in contributions, continuing a trend where business support aligns closely with political influence.

For those donating $1 million or raising $2 million, the reward includes exclusive invitations to high-profile events, including dinners and private gatherings with Trump and his cabinet picks.
