In the wake of a disappointing performance in the Haryana elections, Congress leaders have lodged a formal complaint with the Election Commission, alleging that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) were hacked. Party spokesman Pawan Khera stated that the alleged hacking occurred across 20 seats, with documentary evidence provided for seven of them. The remaining evidence for the other 13 seats is expected to be submitted within the next 48 hours.

Khera emphasized the importance of fair and transparent vote counting, asserting that it is essential for maintaining the integrity of the electoral process. The party has specifically cited issues in areas such as Karnal, Dabwali, Rewari, Panipat City, Hodal, Kalka, and Narnaul.

Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda expressed shock at the election results, noting that there was widespread expectation that Congress would form the government. He criticized the counting process, highlighting that Congress typically performs well with postal ballots but sees a decline once EVM votes are counted. Congress managed to secure only 37 of Haryana's 90 seats, falling significantly behind the BJP, which won 48 seats for a historic third term.

In response to Congress's claims, the Election Commission firmly rejected any allegations of EVM discrepancies. In a letter to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, the Commission stated that such accusations undermine the democratic process and the will of the voters.

As the situation unfolds, Congress continues to push for an investigation and has requested that all EVMs be sealed until thorough examinations are conducted, signaling a significant escalation in their post-election strategy.
