In a stunning display of skill and determination, India's wicket-keeper batter Sanju Samson achieved a monumental milestone by scoring his maiden T20I century in the third and final T20I match against Bangladesh on Saturday. Samson reached the three-digit mark in the second-fastest time for an Indian, maintaining an aggressive approach throughout his innings.

As he approached his hundred, Samson refused to slow down, hitting big shots even while batting in the 90s. In a post-match video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Samson and T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav engaged in a lighthearted conversation about his incredible innings.

Expressing his joy, Samson said, "Basically, very happy, out of words, very emotional, very grateful to God that it has happened. Everyone has his own time." He acknowledged that reaching the hundred was a long and challenging journey but emphasized his belief in himself.

Suryakumar, who was at the non-striker's end during the innings, praised Samson, stating, "I enjoyed it from the other end. One of the best hundreds I have ever seen." He also probed Samson about his decision-making while accelerating his innings, particularly when he was on 96 or 97.

Samson credited the positive team atmosphere for his aggressive mindset: "The team atmosphere and the environment which we have created... The message is, go be aggressive and humble. These are the two words that our captain and coach keep reminding us. So, I just kept on going for it."

Interestingly, Suryakumar had advised Samson to play it safe when he was on 96, but Samson had other ideas: "When I was 96, I told Surya that I'll smash, but Surya told me to go easy because you earned it. But I'm very happy with the kind of clarity I've received from captain Surya and Gautam bhai."

Samson's historic innings not only solidified his place in the team but also showcased the aggressive yet humble approach that he and his teammates are encouraged to adopt. With this performance, he has certainly made a lasting impression in the T20I format.
