In a historic shift for the Ashes series, Perth will host the first Test of the 2025-26 Ashes, ending Brisbane's nearly 40-year tradition of kicking off the Australia-England rivalry. The first Test is set to take place at Perth Stadium from November 21-25, 2025. This will be the inaugural Ashes Test at the new venue, which replaced the old WACA ground, last utilized in 2017.

Following the Perth Test, the second match will be a day-night affair at Brisbane's Gabba, scheduled for December 4-8. Cricket Australia (CA) has emphasized the excitement surrounding the early announcement of the schedule, driven by the high demand from traveling supporters eager to arrange their travel and accommodation.

The 2025-26 Ashes will also include a pre-Christmas Test in Adelaide from December 17-21, a traditional Boxing Day match in Melbourne from December 26-30, and the final Test in Sydney from January 4-8, 2026. This series will see Perth Stadium become the eighth venue in Australia to host an Ashes Test, adding a new chapter to a rivalry that dates back to 1882.

Joel Morrison, CA's executive general manager of events and operations, noted the overwhelming interest in the series, highlighting the significance of the Ashes to both Australian and English cricket fans.
