- Arjun Tendulkar, Ranji Trophy 2024, IPL 2025, cricket news
Arjun Tendulkar, the 25-year-old son of cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, made a statement in the ongoing Ranji Trophy Plate match, picking up his maiden five-wicket haul in First-Class cricket. Arjun’s stellar bowling performance saw him claim figures of 5/25, helping bowl Arunachal Pradesh out for just 84 runs on Day 1.
Starting strong, Arjun dismissed Nabam Hachang in the second over and followed up with two wickets in consecutive balls in the 12th over, leaving him on a hat-trick. He went on to take the wickets of Neelam Obi, Jay Bhavsar, Chinmay Patil, and Moji Ete. With support from his teammates, Mohit Redkar (3/15) and Keith Pinto (2/31), Goa’s bowling attack folded Arunachal Pradesh’s innings in just 30.3 overs.
This excellent performance comes after Mumbai Indians (MI) decided not to retain Arjun for the IPL 2025 season, positioning him for a likely spot in the IPL 2025 mega auction. Prior to this match, Arjun had warmed up for the domestic season with a match-winning nine-wicket haul in Goa's impressive victory over Karnataka in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament.
Arjun’s strong showing in the Ranji Trophy and his consistent form make him an exciting prospect for both domestic and IPL cricket. His performances have placed him in the limelight, especially as Goa looks to build on their strong start in this match.
