Tillu Square, the sequel to DJ Tillu, headlined by Star Boy Siddhu Jonnalagadda, Anupama Parameswaran, is making all the right noises in the theatres, breaking newer records by the day. The Mallik Ram-directed film, bankrolled by S Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and presented by Srikara Studios, has now grossed over Rs 100 crore in just nine days. Commemorating its glorious run, the entire team came together for a success meet, for which Devara star Jr NTR and star writer-director Trivikram were the chief guests.
At the event, Jr NTR shared, “I have watched many films of Siddhu but I interacted with him only after the pandemic. He is obsessed with cinema and consistently focused on doing justice to the characters in his films. Very rarely do we find people like that. Tillu is a character that’ll remain with us all over lives, he is like the boy-next-door and hats off to the team for creating this.”
“I had great fun while doing comedy scenes in Adhurs, Aravinda Sametha. It’s a blessing to entertain audiences. It requires courage to dream and fear/discipline to bring it alive. I want Siddhu to work all his life and I am sure it will take him forward. I trust Siddhu and Vishwak to create a new wave in Telugu cinema and I am proud of their growth,” he added.
“I understand that director Mallik Ram wouldn’t have had it easy with the sequel and he has done a great job. With Devara this year, I’m doing my best to make my fans feel proud of our work and hold their collars high. I wish crowds a happy Ugadi.”
Star writer-filmmaker Trivikram mentioned, “I still remember the day Siddhu narrated DJ Tillu at my residence. He, his writers, directors Vimal Krishna, Mallik Ram have spent sleepless nights to bring this dream alive. I congratulate the entire team for the success. I hope 2024 is remembered for Devara.”
Vishwak Sen, who’ll next be seen in Gangs of Godavari shared, “I came to the event as a Jr NTR fan. Siddhu has breathed Tillu for over two years, Tillu is a therapist we all need once in a while. It’s not easy to work on the same film and put everything side and score a success. S Naga Vamsi has scored two hits this year, I hope he gets a hattrick.”
Star Boy Siddhu Jonnalagadda stated, “I want to congratulate my entire team for Tillu Square’s success. I am overwhelmed. While creating these films, I surrendered to Trivikram like a student and I am a changed man after associating with him. I am grateful to Vishwak Sen for being there for me. I thank Jr NTR from the bottom of my heart for gracing the event unconditionally. His appreciation of Tillu means everything to me. He’s a torchbearer for younger generation of actors. Tillu 3 will happen soon.”
“Thank you so much for the love. I am humbled that Jr NTR, Trivikram garu graced the event,” Anupama Parameswaran said.
“I am so thrilled that Jr NTR is there to applaud our team. I take this opportunity to thank my direction team, every artiste and crew member who worked on Tillu Square. I am thrilled to have delivered a blockbuster. Siddhu has been a brother these two years,” director Mallik Ram added.
Neha Sshetty, who’s widely remembered as Radhika in DJ Tillu and also had a special appearance in Tillu Square, stated, “Thank you all for your love to Radhika, from DJ Tillu to Tillu Square today. I am indebted to Siddhu, Naga Vamsi and Vimal Krishna for the opportunity to play such a character. Anupama has done a fabulous job and looked beautiful as Lilly. Congratulations to the entire team and see you in Tillu Cube soon.”
Vimal Krishna, who helmed the first part DJ Tillu, said, “I and Siddhu created Tillu during lockdown. His dedication for many years has paid off and I couldn’t have been happier for him.”
