Nani has collaborated with debutant Srikanth Odela for Dasara which is the costlest project in his career thus far. But how did Nani trust Srikanth so much as to make the produce spend over Rs 50 crores on the project? Here's a look into what happened behind the scenes.

Srikanth Odela is an introvert and is not a natural story orator. He told Nani the story of Dasara for 4 hours in his own style. Nani felt that these characters are like the ones Srikanth might have met/studied in real life. Nani was impressed with it the story.

However, there is a catch. Does Srikanth have the finesse of visual story telling as he is a debutant. Nani gave him a small amount of money that doesn’t even cover expenses to shoot a short film. He has given two scenes from Dasara script to Srikanth to shoot with it.

Srikanth went to his hometown and shot the scenes with limited resources. After watching the output, Nani was thoroughly impressed and he readily signed Srikanth.

That's how Dasara happened and the producer Sudhakar Cherukuri ended up spending a fortune on it. The onus is now on Nani to come good on his end of the bargain and deliver big time at the box office as Dasara heads for release on the 30th of March.
