In a highly surprising development, the Telugu Desam Party ended up winning an MLC seat in the recently held MLA-elected polls. The party won the one solitary MLC seat that was contested by Panchumarthi Anuradha.

Now, the YCP high command is digging deep on the cross-voting trend and it is essentially identified that YCP's Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy is one of the two MLAs who voted for TDP.

Incidentally, Mekapati had been unavailable for calls and correspondence from the YCP high command after the MLC elections.

Strangely, the MLA is said to have left to Bengaluru after the elections and he is not picking the calls of the YCP high command, say reports. This comes after he is believed to have cross voted in the elections.

It is also heard that all the YCP flexis and posters were removed from the MLA's office in his constituency. This could be a clear indication that he has completely distanced himself from the party.
