The Tollywood box office saw two new theatrical outings last weekend and they are Ravi Teja's Ravanasura and young hero Kiran Abbavaram's Meter.

Coming to the box office collections of these films, Ravanasura has started off on a slightly better note with the theatrical share of the film at around Rs 10 crores. This is an okayish start for the Ravi Teja starrer, given the genre but it needs to hold well over the second week if it is to enter safe zone.

Ravanasura will need a miraculous hold over the second week if it is to reap profits for the buyers. But this looks a bit farfetched for now, we must say. The film needs to collect over Rs 13 crores share in order to breakeven.

On the other hand, Kiran Abbavaram's Meter which released on the same day as Ravanausra has ended up as a complete washout at the box office.

Meter isn't even in a position to reap back the invested publicity costs. It will go down as one of the biggest disasters for a tier-3 hero in Tollywood. It is high time that Kiran focuses on his scripts in order to build on the platform that he has laid for himself.
