Superstar Rajinikanth has made a roaring comeback with Jailer which has gone berserk at the box office and has reaped hefty profits for everyone involved.
As for the Telugu rights of the film, they were bought for Rs 9.5 crore and an additional Rs 1 crore was spent on the promotions.
In total, around Rs 10 crores is the expenditure for the film which is a pretty paltry number for a Rajinikanth starrer.
But the film went bonkers at the box office and it ended up collecting a theatrical share in the range of Rs 36 crores in the Telugu states.
The Telugu theatrical rights buyers ended up pocketing a whopping Rs 25 crores profits from the film and this a pretty substantial number.
This is the kind of jackpot that a distributor and buyer will be looking for and the Telugu language distributor of Jailer has experienced the same now. He should be a happy man now.
