Bollywood box office has been blowing hot and cold of late with certain big range films absolutely blasting at the box office while others are stuttering to pose even notable openings.

In 2023, the likes of Animal, Jawan, Pathan, and Gadar 2 set the box office on absolute fire and all of them returned big money to the buyers.

But cut to 2024, it has started on a dull note. Last weekend, two high profile films Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan released at the box office and shockingly both of them are bombing big time.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan organically collected in the range of 30 crores in its first three days at the box office and this is a shockingly low number for a film that was made on a budget of Rs 350 crores.

Then we have Maidaan which was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 250 crores. The early word of mouth and reviews have been very positive for the film but that is not transcending into the box office run as it collected mere Rs 20 crores.

While Rs 600 crores were at stake for Bollywood last weekend, the two new releases collected mere Rs 50 crores leaving he buyers in a huge risk.
