In a bid to attract audiences to his latest release, "Sarfira," struggling star Akshay Kumar has resorted to offering free tea and samosas to moviegoers. This move follows the film's lackluster box office performance, with it earning a modest ₹2.5 crore on its opening day. PVR and INOX cinemas have been compelled to offer these freebies to entice viewers.

The film saw a notable increase in its collections on the second day, earning ₹4.5 crore, nearly doubling its first-day earnings. However, this is still not enough to ensure the film's success. To boost ticket sales, the two multiplex chains have announced a promotion offering free tea and two samosas with each ticket purchase, valid until stocks last.

This tactic has sparked concerns about the sustainability of the film industry and the ability of star actors to draw crowds based solely on their star power when the content does not resonate with audiences. Despite these challenges, the surge in bookings on the second day suggests that the free tea and samosa offer may have had a positive impact. It remains to be seen how the film will perform in the coming days.
