Renowned Bollywood actor Govinda faced a shocking incident this morning when he accidentally shot himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. The 60-year-old actor was preparing to depart for a flight to Kolkata when the mishap occurred. Rushed to Criticare Hospital in Juhu, he underwent an hour-long surgery to remove the bullet from beneath his knee and is expected to remain hospitalized for a few days.

According to his manager, Shashi Sinha, the incident took place shortly before Govinda was due to leave for the airport. Govinda's wife, Sunita Ahuja, was in Kolkata at the time, but immediately returned to Mumbai upon learning about the accident. The actor reportedly dropped his revolver while storing it, causing it to discharge.

Dr. Ramesh Agarwal, who operated on Govinda, confirmed that the bullet was successfully extracted and his condition is stable. He emphasized the need for Govinda to rest for about a month, although he could be discharged in three to four days.

In a heartfelt audio message released from his hospital bed, Govinda expressed gratitude for the support of his fans, family, and doctors. He acknowledged the gravity of the situation, stating, “It could have been worse, but I am grateful for God's grace.”

Family members and well-wishers gathered at the hospital, providing emotional support during this challenging time. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also reached out to the actor, offering reassurance and support from the state government.

Police have begun an investigation into the incident, having seized the weapon, and security has been heightened at the hospital to ensure the actor's safety during his recovery.
