Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming film Thandel is currently surrounded by release date confusion, with plans for completion by January. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film features Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in lead roles and is produced by Geetha Arts. Speaking at a recent event, Mondeti candidly addressed the uncertainty surrounding the film’s release.
He confirmed that the team wouldn’t be ready with the first copy by December, eliminating the possibility of a Christmas release. Instead, he suggested that Thandel could be completed by January, but competition for the Sankranthi slots poses a challenge. With major releases from Ram Charan and Venkatesh scheduled for the same period, Mondeti indicated that Thandel might be pushed to a later date if necessary.
Given the high-profile competition from stars like Balakrishna and Ajith, careful planning is crucial for Thandel’s success. The film is projected to be a significant entry in Chaitanya's career, and a solo release could provide the strong start it needs, rather than competing with multiple films during the festival.
In Thandel, Chaitanya portrays a young fisherman from a village, set against a backdrop involving India and Pakistan. Fans are also eagerly anticipating the music composed by Devi Sri Prasad. With only ten days of shooting left, delays may be attributed to Sai Pallavi’s promotional commitments for Amaran and Chaitanya’s busy schedule, including his recent engagement and participation in the ANR National Award event.
As the situation develops, fans will need to wait a bit longer for the final release date of Thandel.
