The stardom of Dulquer Salmaan seems to have proven insufficient to pull Lucky Baskhar in the desired direction. It also appears he struggled to compete with the popularity of Sai Pallavi of 'Amaran'. During the festival season, when three to four films are released at once, the family audiences are naturally divided across one or two popular films. For family audiences, Sai Pallavi is a bigger draw, although Dulquer won them over with Mahanati and Seetha Ramam. However, in Mahanati, it was not Dulquer but the presence of Keerthy Suresh and the iconic Savitri-factor that attracted viewers. In Sita Ramam, it was the poetic love story and hit music that captivated audiences.

Lucky Bhaskar, however, lacks both the impactful soundtrack and the romantic allure of Sita Ramam. This might have led family audiences to opt for Sai Pallavi's Amaran. Moreover, Lucky Bhaskar had a larger budget, either due to the intricate art direction or other factors, making it challenging to break even and achieve profits. Coming to 'Ka', the budget is small and so with the kind of positive talk it garnered and the young audience watching it, it proved successful. So far, the breakeven point has already been reached, and any collections coming in now are purely profits. The young audience and lovers of variety in films have fully embraced this.

Unlike Amaran and Ka, the collections for Lucky Baskhar saw a drop on Monday, reflecting this struggle. Despite the aggressive publicity for Lucky Baskhar and minimal promotion for Amaran, the latter secured the top position with the highest collections.
