One of the most talked-about films of the year, Laapata Ladies, has made a strategic shift in its branding ahead of its Oscar campaign. Directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan, the film, which was selected as India's official entry to the Oscars, will now be known as Lost Ladies. This change, announced via a new poster on social media, aims to increase the film’s international appeal and recall value as it competes for an Academy Award.
The official social media handle of the film revealed the updated title, saying, "Presenting the official poster for Lost Ladies—a glimpse into the wild, heartfelt journey of Phool and Jaya!" From now on, the film will be referred to as Lost Ladies across all media platforms as the team intensifies their global promotional efforts for the Oscars 2025.
The film features stellar performances from Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Sparsh Srivastava, with music composed by the acclaimed Ram Sampath.
