Kannada superstar Shivaraj Kumar, affectionately known as Shivanna, continues to expand his horizons beyond Karnataka, with notable roles in Telugu and Tamil films. After making a strong impact in Rajinikanth's Jailer, he is now set to feature in a significant role in the much-anticipated pan-India film RC16 with Ram Charan and director Buchi Babu Sana. Additionally, though he was approached for a key role in Thalapathy Vijay's 69th film, no official update has been shared so far.
Meanwhile, Shivaraj Kumar’s latest film, Bhairathi Ranagal, a prequel to the 2017 hit Mufti, is garnering success at the box office despite limited release only in Karnataka. The crime thriller has managed to make a strong impact over the opening weekend, surpassing expectations even with the release of Suriya’s Kanguva.
Director Narthan has crafted a compelling mass character for Shivaraj Kumar, much like in Mufti, and the film’s emotional drama, combined with Shivanna's mass appeal, has resonated deeply with audiences. The story revolves around a fictional village named Ronapura, where Shivaraj Kumar plays a character who evolves from a juvenile prisoner to a lawyer fighting for justice. His strong screen presence, alongside the electrifying background score by Ravi Basrur, has been praised for elevating the film’s cinematic experience.
Given its success in Karnataka, the makers are now planning to release the film in Telugu, expanding its reach further across the country.
