In an interesting development, the IAS Officers Association of Andhra Pradesh has proposed private screenings of new Telugu films for officials and their families on weekends. The move comes as many bureaucrats find it difficult to attend regular theater screenings due to their busy schedules. The association has suggested hosting these screenings at a mini-theater in Vijayawada, which can accommodate up to 48 people.

T Prasanna Kumar, General Secretary of the Telugu Film Producers Council, confirmed the request from both the Andhra Pradesh State Film and Television Development Corporation and the IAS Officers Association. While no official decision has been made, the film industry is generally open to discussing the proposal. Producers are keen to maintain positive relationships with government officials, especially as they frequently interact for permits and approvals.

A leading producer supported the idea, highlighting that similar private screenings are often held in Andhra Pradesh Bhavan in Delhi or VIP home theaters in Hyderabad. With the rise of digital platforms, such screenings are easier to arrange, and piracy concerns can be avoided by sending films via secure digital links with restricted access.
