Allu Arjun's highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule is already making waves at the box office, even before its official release. The Sukumar directorial has shattered presales records, selling an impressive 2,142,071 tickets and amassing ₹63.16 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This marks a new milestone for the film, surpassing the advance booking numbers of the blockbuster RRR, which had grossed ₹58.73 crore in presales for its opening day.
The film will be released in a range of formats, including 2D, IMAX 2D, and 4DX, with the 3D version set to release later. To cater to a wide audience, Pushpa 2 will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The presales numbers for each format show massive demand, with over 1 million tickets sold for Telugu shows alone. Other formats, such as IMAX 2D and 4DX, also have strong reservations, with thousands of seats already booked in both Telugu and Hindi languages.
Before RRR, Pushpa 2 broke records previously held by massive blockbusters like Baahubali 2, KGF 2, and Kalki 2898 AD. The film also became the fastest to sell over 12 lakh tickets on BookMyShow. Film trade experts are predicting an opening day collection of ₹250 crore, with major cinema chains already screening over 20 shows daily, with more shows expected as the release date nears.
Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise and features Allu Arjun alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj. The film is set to release on December 5, and its early box office performance suggests it will be a massive hit.
