Mukhachitram, written by National award-winning director Sandeep Raj, has finally been released. The film has been carrying a decent buzz surrounding it, and the team was highly confident regarding the film's success. Directed by Gangadhar, let's see how the film has turned out to be.

Story:
Raj is a plastic surgeon who falls in love and marries a girl named Mahathi. The two lead a happy married life, but complications arise as Maya is in love with Raj. This results in an unfortunate circumstance for Raj, where Maya complicates things for Mahathi and Raj. What is that complication and what finally happens forms the rest of the story.

How did the actors perform?

Vikas Vasisht is good in his role, and is quite convincing as a plastic surgeon. He has the audience pay attention to him whenever he is on screen, and has a terrific screen presence. His scenes with the leading ladies are quite good as well.

Priya Vadlamani is the show stealer of the movie, with her amazing performance. She shows different shades effortlessly, and slips into any space with ease. Her character has great scope in the film, and she has perfectly lived her character on screen.

Ayesha Khan is seen for a short time on the screen, but she makes a good impact with it, which carries the rest of the film forward. Chaitanya Rao is also good enough in his role.

Vishwak Sen and Ravi Shankar, who are seen in important roles in the film, do their job quite well. Certain scenes between them are good in the film, and will entertain the audience well enough.

What about the technical finesse?

Sandeep Raj made a huge impact on the audience with his film Colour Photo, which even won a National Award. As such, there were good expectations on Mukha Chitram, and like he said, while the screenplay and story might seem to be dragging on in the first half, the second half more than makes up for it with its gripping narrative. Director Gangadhar delivers the script to the big screen perfectly. His execution is good. The twist in the second half is particularly very good, and has also been handled quite well.

The background score by Kaala Bhairavaa is a major asset for the film, as it elevates every scene to the next level. He has once again proved himself as one of the most promising and upcoming talents in the industry.

The production design, camera work and editing of the film are also quite good.

Verdict: Mukhachitram, on the whole, is a very decent attempt and manages to entertain the audience quite well. The performances are good, and the film delivers on what it has promised. It can be watched once.

Rating: 2.75/5
