The makers of Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha, featuring Kiran Abbavaram and Kashmira in the lead roles, promoted the film as a new age action comedy. Here’s our review of the film.

Story: Vishnu (Kiran) crosses path with Darshana (Kashmira) and they eventually fall for each other. All hell breaks lose after they are caught in a terrorist attack situation. How are they linked to it? Can they come out safely from the terror attack?

How did the actors perform?

The lead cast comprises of Kiran, Kashmira, Murali Sharma, and others. They all perform to the best of their capabilities.

Kiran is good in his role of a common lad who finds himself in the midst of a terrorism coup. He emotes well. Kashmira looks gorgeous on the big screens and she is fine performance as well.

Murali Sharma excels. The rest of the cast get limited screen time and they’re alright.

What about the technical finesse?

The film is directed by Murali Kishor Abburu and he kind of tries to include everything he has in this one film and that resulted in a clumsy final package that has too many threads and very little gel to keep them all together.

The music is decent and so is the cinematography. The production values by GA 2 Pictures are of top quality.

Analysis: Vinaro Bhagyamu Vishnu Katha starts off as a love drama and eventually progresses to become a terrorism attack thriller. The switch isn’t too smooth though.

There’s the effort to show much content in such brisk runtime and this doesn’t bode well. The narration is clumsy for most parts.

But the film does have a certain degree of freshness as the whole setup is new and different. The opening half has a fair few bright moments that hold the attention of the audience. The interval twist is bang on point.

But the latter half loses the steam at an all important point and that doesn’t help the cause. The terror attack turns out to be silly towards the end and that’s a no-no for a film like this.

The ending is partly better as the emotional track works out a fair bit. Had the director been more focused dealing only the important threads in the narrative rather than trying to serve too much to the audience all at once, it would’ve made for a far better output.

Verdict: VBVK is a poorly written action comedy that has an interesting premise but clumsy writing.
