Pareshan, featuring young actor Thiruveer of Masooda fame in the lead role released in theaters today. The film is presented by Rana. Here's our review of the film.

Story: 5 jobless youth from a rural setting in Telangana are led by Issac (Thiruveer). Incidentally, they find themselves neck deep in trouble after Issac gets his girlfriend pregnant and ends up needing money to orchestrate a safe abortion. What follows later forms the rest of the plot.

What about artists performance?

The film is backed by fine performances from a decent set of newcomers. They are good in their respective roles and perform to the best of their capabilities. Pavani Karanam looks good as the female lead.

What about the technical finesse?

The director Rupak Ronaldson picks a haywire script that has very little substance and tries to engulf it with comedy. The background score is whacky and the visuals are adequate.

Analysis:

Films like Pareshan don't necessarily depend on the core storyline to make it big. But they need a winning screenplay in order to strike a chord with the audience. This is where this film falls short.

The story is a silly one and doesn't have much substance. This is when a racy screenplay is needed to gel things together. Simply keeping the Telangana nativity on the forefront and leaving the rest to the air is a poor move.

The film takes a twist after the male lead finds out his girl is pregnant. The subsequent sequences had scope for good comedy but that is wasted through lethargic writing and unwitty narration.

The film labours along at a poor pace for most parts and fall behind the ball game with the story being a confusing one and the narrative lagging the impetus.

Verdict: Pareshan makes the audience go pareshan with its poor and lethargic writing and presentation. The makers intended to make a whacky Telangana atmospheric comedy drama but ended up making an utterly poor one at it.

Rating: 2/5
