Talented young actor Kiran Abbavaram has been in desperate need of success and he regarded Rules Ranjann as a safe bet. The comedy caper released in theaters today and here's what we have to say about the same.

Story: Mano Ranjan(Kiran Abbavaram) is a software employee who lives by a strict set of rules that he has in place for the betterment of his life. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he renews his friendship with Sana(Neha Shetty), a classmate from their school days. What is the drastic change in his life?

How did the actors perform?

Kiran, Neha, Vennela Kishore and others play the lead roles in the film and they deliver whatever is expected of them. Kishore is the main source of comedy and he does a fine job at it. The rest are alright.

What about technical finesse?

The director Rathinam Krishna picks a horrendously outdated script and presently in an even more outlandish manner. There isn't much to talk about on the technical front.

Analysis:

Rules Rajann is somewhere on the lines of Mahanubhavudu and Bhale Bhale Magadivoi, but is a million galaxies away from them in terms of effectiveness. The theme resembles with these films but the execution is horrific.

The main man is obsessed with the rules he set for himself and he then goes through a life-changing experience when the heroine enters his life. This is a plot even a second grader can better.

The opening half is loaded wit hcringe comedy that puts the audience through a bore fest. The introduction song and the character establishment sequences are wildly anticlimatic.

The second half has emotions and these are far more outdated than the emotions we see in Telugu TV serials these days. One can only wonder how the hero okayed a screenplay like this.

Verdict: Rules Rajann is easily one of the worst films to have released in the recent past and Kiran Abbavaram's quest for box office success gets elongated that much longer.
