Radhani Files, a seemingly attention grabbing film based on the plight of the Amaravati farmers had its theatrical debut today and here is what we have to say about the same.
Story: The film deals with the hardships faced by the Amaravati farmers after the YSR Congress led Andhra Pradesh government decided to go ahead with its three capitals proposal. It shows how the lives of the farmers changed drastically after the capital development become far too distant from reality.
How did the actors perform?
The film has a mix of experienced and new actors. Vinod Kumar and Vani Vishwanath play a middle aged couple and they deliver whatever is expected of them. Veena and Pushparaj play the lead roles and they are alright.
What about the technical finesse?
The film was made on a compact budget and that is understandable considering the genre and the theme. There is not much to comment on the technical aspects of the film.
Analysis:
The narrative centers around the hassles faced by the people residing in Amaravati after the YSR Congress government decided to make Vizag the executive capital. The internal politics associated with the same and the aftereffects form the main plot.
There are several scenes that replicate the current day political events. Even controversial scenes like 'Bathrood Goddali' 'Gudivada casino' "Thrashing Amaravati farmers' are seen in the film.
Considering the nature of the film, it is obvious to draw a polar response. Those who relate with the film will see it as a closer to reality representation of the plight of people of Amaravati. For the rest, it will seem like a propaganda film that is over exaggerated to shed bad light on the YCP government.
Naturally, TDP and JSP supporters will find the film as a contemporary take on Amaravati issue. YCP troops will be seen as a propaganda film against Jagan government. There are obvious cinematic liberties that are taken to create the cinema effect.
Controversial topics like bathroom bloodbath and the oppression of protesting women have the intensity but given the polar nature of the film, these can't be judged from a neutral standpoint.
Verdict: Rajadhani Files is a pro-Amaravati film and that naturally keeps it against the YCP government. It relates with a section of the audience and for the rest, it seems exaggerated.
