Very few hikers I see, use poles correctly. When used correctly, poles :
Make you a safer, more efficient hiker.
Relieve stress on knees.
Allow you to burn more calories.
I teach a free two hour clinic at Hidden Canyon Park in Belmont by appointment, Saturday mornings. Optional 6 Mile hike after. (I had to enter 11/30 to keep post active, but most Saturdays are available.)
Don't think you need poles?? Neither did I. I was wrong! They will make you a better hiker, regardless of physical ability.
If you: don't use your straps, or don't know how to use them; think there is only one way to use poles, regardless of terrane; use rubber tips on trails; Only use poles for part of the hike; use only one pole (you'll learn that's like one hand clapping!), you need this clinic!
