Discipline: Surveying inspection and field services

As we expand our surveying business, we're looking to welcome an experienced survey data technician to the team. This is a role that will provide an opportunity to get involved in a wide range of surveying projects.
On a daily basis, a data technician may be asked to perform any of the following duties:
Using a variety of software products, download, process, QC, and transmit survey data on preliminary, boundary, and construction surveys for pipeline projects
Communicate with supervisor and field crews regarding notes and data issues
Draft survey linework and attach object data
Generate TIN surfaces
Generate stakeout files and sketches
Organize daily reports and field notes
Assist Drafting team regarding survey questions
Plot deeds
Assist PS with control plan
Assist Survey Department, as a whole, when needed
Interface with the client rep, as needed
Seek advice when needed
Willingness to learn and grow in the position
Strong work ethic and team-player attitude
Utilize creativity, foresight, and judgment in anticipating and solving technical problems
Display strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills.
Follow Mott MacDonald policies, procedures, and standards.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
High School graduate or equivalent. Associates degree, 4 year degree in a related discipline, or SIT is strongly desired.
In depth knowledge of commonly used surveying terms
Experience with the latest software for downloading survey data from data collectors
Strong work ethic and team-player attitude
Strong technical, documentation, and organizational skills
