Police in Telangana's Vikarabad district have taken swift action by arresting 55 individuals in connection with the recent attack on district officials during a public hearing for the proposed 'Pharma Village'. The attack, which took place in Lagacharla village of Dudyala mandal, left District Collector Prateek Jain, Additional Collector G. Lingya Naik, and Kodangal Area Development Authority (KADA) Chairman Venkat Reddy injured.

The incident, which occurred in Kodangal constituency represented by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has caused outrage and led to the suspension of Internet services in Dudyala, Kodangal, and Bomraspet mandals. Police have described the attack as 'pre-planned' and have registered three cases in connection with the violence.

According to reports, the attack was orchestrated by B. Suresh Raj, a leader of the young wing of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Dudyala mandal. The officials were targeted when they were conducting a public hearing to gather the opinions of farmers affected by the proposed pharma cluster. The perpetrators raised slogans against the Chief Minister and resorted to pelting stones at the officials' cars.

Despite sustaining injuries, KADA Chairman Venkat Reddy, Additional Collector Lingya Naik, and Vikarabad DSP Srinivas Reddy have shown resilience. Lingya Naik has been admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad for further treatment. The Inspector General of Police (Multi Zone II) V. Satyanarayana has condemned the attack as premeditated and assured that stringent action will be taken against the culprits and instigators.

In solidarity with the officials, government employees in Vikarabad district have boycotted their duties, while employees across the state have been wearing black badges. The incident has sparked a wave of support for the affected officials and a demand for justice against those responsible for the violent attack.'''
