Former Gudivada MLA and YSRCP leader Kodali Nani has come under fire for his disrespectful comments about Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh. The offensive language he used during media interactions has led to public outrage, with many condemning his remarks. His attacks on TDP leaders, including personal insults, have been a source of constant controversy, especially among TDP supporters.

For the past five years, supporters of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) endured these abusive remarks with the belief that Nani and others would face consequences once YSRCP lost power. In fact, Nara Lokesh had openly declared that Nani would be paraded in the streets in a humiliating manner once TDP came back to power, alluding to the insults he had directed at his family. However, despite these expectations, no legal action was taken against Nani, much to the frustration of TDP's cadres.

In a new turn of events, a law student from Vishakapatnam has come forward to file a formal complaint against Kodali Nani. She has claimed that the abusive language used by Nani towards Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh caused her significant mental distress. Her complaint has led to a case being registered against the former minister, marking the first legal action taken against him for his offensive remarks. The case has drawn considerable attention, given the emotional impact it has had on the general public and political activists.

The incident follows a broader trend in Andhra Pradesh politics, where YSRCP leaders have been increasingly scrutinized for their public insults and derogatory comments. The NDA government, led by Chandrababu Naidu, has made it clear that they will not tolerate hate speech and are setting a strong precedent by arresting several supporters of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) for their online abuse campaigns. Prominent figures, including Sri Reddy, Posani Krishna Murali, and Ram Gopal Varma, have already been booked for similar offenses.

Kodali Nani's disappearance from the political scene following his party's defeat in the 2024 elections further adds to the intrigue surrounding this case. Nani has already stated that he will not contest the next elections. Despite this, his past actions have continued to stir controversy, and his case has now become part of the growing legal actions against public figures in Andhra Pradesh for using offensive language.

As the TDP, Janasena, and other political parties look to hold leaders accountable for such remarks, the public eagerly awaits how the government will proceed with these cases, especially as Kodali Nani now joins a list of other figures facing legal repercussions for their controversial comments.
