Chennai police arrested eight suspects on Friday for the murder of state BSP president K Armstrong, a retaliation for gangster Arcot Suresh's killing. Identified as Ponnai Bala, Ramu, Thiruvengadam, Thirumalai, Selvaraj, Manivannan, Santhosh, and Arul, they were tracked via mobile towers and CCTV. All belong to the Kuravar community and will be produced in court on Saturday.

A 9-year-old girl in Bhiwandi was sexually assaulted and murdered by a 45-year-old labourer living in the same building. The suspect, who had been giving the child treats, lured her to his home before committing the crime. Police investigation led to the arrest of the accused who has been living in the area for years.
