Shruthilaya is committed to teaching Carnatic music to young and old alike. Having a solid foundation in music is beneficial in more ways than one.  Students are placed in groups according to age and meet once a week.

Shruthilaya School of Music was established in 2005, under the able guidance of Guru Smt. Shailaja Iyer. Several students have developed their talents in music, both Carnatic and Devotional. They have embarked on this wondrous journey, enriching their lives in the process. Classes are held in Naperville, Illinois.

Shailaja’s formal training in Carnatic music began at a very young age. She is a Gold Medalist in Music from Bangalore University. She continued her music studies at the esteemed Kalakshtra school for music. Shailaja has a vast repertoire of krithis that include rare compositions. She has been teaching Carnatic music to aspirants of all ages and has an excellent rapport with her students. She constantly motivates them to give their best.
