Robots are increasingly becoming a part of everyday life, and in a groundbreaking development, China has introduced an advanced AI-powered spherical police robot known as RT-G. Developed by Logon Technology, the RT-G is designed to go beyond traditional surveillance and actively pursue and apprehend suspects. Unlike many Western models focused on monitoring, this robot can chase criminals, shoot nets, and even withstand falls from heights.

The RT-G robot is equipped with advanced sensors and facial recognition software, allowing it to detect potential criminal activity and identify known offenders. It can operate in both land and water environments, making it highly versatile for various situations. Capable of speeds up to 35 km/h, the RT-G is not only fast but also resilient, able to withstand up to four tonnes of impact damage.

In addition to its crime-fighting abilities, the RT-G is equipped with non-lethal gear, including net guns, tear gas dispensers, and sound wave dispersal devices. If the robot detects a threat, it can either call for human or robotic backup or take direct action itself. The RT-G represents a major step in integrating autonomous robots into law enforcement, potentially transforming public safety operations.
