- Fast Track Immigration, Immigration Process, Delhi Airport, International Travel
India has launched an innovative Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. This initiative aims to significantly reduce the time taken for immigration clearance, slashing wait times from a minimum of 30 minutes to just a few seconds. The program utilizes biometrics to provide pre-verified travelers with a smoother experience during both arrival and departure.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has plans to expand the FTI-TTP to 20 other major airports across India, including Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Cochin, and Ahmedabad. By implementing automated gates, or e-gates, the program seeks to streamline the travel experience, making international journeys more efficient for eligible passengers, including Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.
Eligible individuals can apply for the FTI-TTP through an online portal, where their information will be verified by the Bureau of Immigration. Once registered, travelers can enjoy expedited immigration processes, enhancing overall travel satisfaction and convenience. This initiative reflects India's commitment to becoming a prominent international travel destination.
