Andhra Pradesh's former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy used to evade the CBI court hearing every Friday under the citation that he was the CM and didn't have the time to appear in court. But now that Jagan is no longer the CM, the CBI court has started decisive action with regard to the case.
Jagan's disproportionate assets case came to a hearing at the Nampally CBI court today. The court adjourned the hearing to tomorrow, 20 June, and further remarked that the case will be heard in court every day starting from tomorrow.
With the daily-wise hearing to commence tomorrow, the chances are that the investigation on the case could get fast-tracked.
There are also reports that the CBI plans to appeal to the court to order Jagan Mohan Reddy to appear for investigation, considering that he is no longer this CM. If the court approves the petition that is likely to be filed by the CBI soon, then Jagan might have to appear for a CBI court hearing regularly, like he did before becoming the CM in 2019.
