During his ‘Yuva Galam’ yatra last year, TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh made a notable promise to his party cadre and supporters. He warned government officials and YSR Congress party leaders of a reckoning, declaring that those involved in political vendettas and misconduct would be listed in a ‘Red Book’ and dealt with accordingly once the TDP came into power.
This pledge, symbolized by the carrying of an actual 'Red Book' during his campaign, was intended to assure TDP supporters of a future reckoning against perceived wrongdoers.
With Chandrababu Naidu now serving as Chief Minister, there is mounting pressure from the TDP cadre for the government to follow through on this promise. Initial disappointment over the slow implementation of the 'Red Book' has recently given way to signs of action. Notably, the arrest of former Minister Jogi Ramesh’s son by ACB officials in connection with a multi-crore Agrigold land scam indicates that the government is beginning to address the alleged abuses and corruption from the previous administration.

The arrest of Jogi Ramesh’s son and ongoing investigations into other YSRCP leaders suggest that the TDP is making good on its 'Red Book' pledge. This development signals that the new government is prepared to hold accountable those who exploited their positions for personal and political gain during the last five years. As more actions are expected, the promise made by Nara Lokesh is slowly turning into reality, marking a significant shift in the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh.
